Jordan wants to establish a free trade zone for Vietnamese goods exported to the Middle East

At a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 3, Chairman of the Jordanian House of Representatives Mazen Turki El Qadi affirmed that Jordan considers Vietnam an important partner in Asia. They hope to increase cooperation, sharing and exchange of experience in the areas of strength of both sides, especially agriculture, health care, pharmaceuticals, defense industry, cyber security, halal, science and technology.

The Chairman of the Jordanian House of Representatives proposed establishing a free trade zone for Vietnamese goods in Jordan for export to the Middle East region, and establishing joint venture enterprises in potential fields.

He also proposed that the two sides continue to increase delegation exchanges at all levels, establish and effectively organize bilateral cooperation mechanisms and frameworks. The two sides aim to establish permanent representative agencies in each other’s capitals, organize a Political Consultation Meeting, and establish a Working Group on Vietnam – Jordan business cooperation. At the same time, the two countries will promote the signing of important cooperation agreements on visa exemption, investment protection and double taxation avoidance.

Regarding the economy, the two leaders agreed to promote increasing trade turnover to 500 million USD by 2030 and 1 billion USD by 2035. Vietnam – Jordan also promoted opening the market for each side’s strong goods, supporting each other to ensure food security, developing the Halal industry…

The friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Jordan are developing positively, especially after the historic visit of King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein in November 2025. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh believes that the visit of Chairman of the House of Representatives Mazen Turki El Qadi will make an important contribution to promoting bilateral relations into a new, more substantive and effective stage of development.

In the context of profound changes in the world and regional situation, the Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam and Jordan need to increase cooperation to open up new opportunities.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is ready to ensure a stable supply of quality agricultural and aquatic products for Jordan, welcomed Jordanian businesses to Vietnam to explore investment and business cooperation opportunities and suggested researching and deploying Jordan’s anti-salt intrusion technology using coral reefs in Vietnam.
