French game developer opens programming contest in Vietnam

The goal of participating teams is to develop an initial idea into a playable prototype, while evaluating the commercial potential of the product at an early stage.

Voodoo is a mobile game developer and publisher headquartered in France, known for its model of collaborating with studios globally to develop, publish and scale games for international markets. Voodoo possesses practical experience in key stages of the product life cycle, from idea generation, market fit verification to user expansion stage.

The event takes place in the context that Vietnam is gradually becoming a notable destination for the mobile gaming industry, with many domestic studios bringing products to international rankings. Therefore, the Voodoo Hanoi Game Jam 2026 competition is designed for a fast-paced product development, requiring teams to not only complete the demo in a short time, but also continuously compare ideas with criteria for long-term development capabilities.

Within the framework of the program, participating teams will work directly with experienced experts in the game industry from Paris and Türkiye, representing Voodoo’s publishing team. The content focus is on developing Hybrid Puzzle games, with a clear commercial orientation, instead of just stopping at testing ideas.

Game jam has a total prize value of over 10,000 USD, awarded to teams with outstanding products. In addition to prizes, some teams may also be considered for long-term support from the business, depending on the quality of the prototype and the suitability of the cooperation process after the event.

The program is aimed at professional studios in Vietnam, who have experience developing mobile games in the fields of Hybrid Puzzle, casual or hybrid-casual, and have the ability to work directly in Hanoi during the three-day event.
