US attacks Islamic State targets in Syria

Communication centers, weapons depots, and other logistics facilities were attacked. 50 precision-guided munitions were used, and airplanes, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles were involved.

“The strikes demonstrate our unwavering commitment to preventing the Islamic State from rearing its head in Syria. We must work with our allies to ensure the defeat of ISIS, making America, the region, and the world safer,” CENTCOM chief Adm. Brad Cooper said.

It should be noted that Kurdish militias operating with US support played a key role in the campaign against IS. Now, with the consent of the American administration, the Syrian authorities have eliminated the Kurdish autonomy that existed in the northeast of the country.
