Plasma injections treat hair loss

Doctor II Dam Thi Thuy Hong, Head of the Department of Aesthetics, Tam Anh General Hospital in Hanoi, used a Dermoscopy machine to magnify the structure of the scalp and hair follicles many times, assessing that Mr. Minh’s hair density had decreased compared to his age, many hair strands were thin, the hair follicles were small and poorly functioning but not completely atrophied. The doctor took a sufficient amount of Mr. Minh’s blood, then processed it with a specialized centrifugation system to extract the platelet-rich plasma. This part contains high concentrations of biological growth factors that stimulate cell proliferation, provide oxygen and nutrients around hair follicles, promote tissue regeneration, and stimulate weakened hair follicles to reactivate. Thanks to that, hair loss is reduced, new hair grows thicker and stronger over time.

The doctor injected PRP directly into thin hair areas with a small needle for 45-60 minutes, after which Mr. Minh did not need to rest. After about a month, his hair loss decreased. After 3 PRP sessions according to a personalized regimen, baby hair grows clearly in the forehead area, the parting line gradually narrows, and the hair becomes thicker and stronger.

Dr. Hong noted that PRP does not bring immediate results but gradually improves according to the natural growth cycle of hair follicles. Normally, hair loss reduces after 4-6 weeks, new hair grows more clearly after 2-3 months and continues to grow in the following months. The effect is maintained well if the scalp is properly cared for and the treatment is repeated as prescribed.

According to Dr. Hong, hair loss is not only seen in middle age but is clearly increasing in young people, especially aged 20-35.
