The government has just given 33 new functions to Tomislav Ćorić! And another new secretary of state

The minister himself would hardly be able to remember which armchair he sat in today. And even if he tried to read all the new functions, it would take him about five minutes.

So here’s everyone he’s just been named to. In the framework of governmental coordination, he became: Č member of the Coordination for foreign and European policy, č member of the Coordination for the homeland security system and Croatian veterans, č member of the Coordination for internal policy, social activities and human rights, č member of the Coordination for the economy, č member of the Coordination for sectoral policies, č member of the Coordination for demography, č member of the Personnel Commission.

From domestic institutions and public companies, he became: Chairman of the Supervisory Board of HBOR, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center for Restructuring and Sales (CERP), Chairman of the Council for the Internal Control System in the Public Sector, Official in Charge of Accreditation, Chairman of the Assembly of the Croatian Lottery, Government Representative in the Economic and Social Council, Member of the Council for Negotiations with MOL INA, National Coordinator for projects financed by foreign loans and grants, č member of the Inter-ministerial Commission for Exports to the USA, č member of the Management Board of the Center for Finance Development, č member of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities, member of the Inter-ministerial Commission for Defense Capabilities and Defense Industry, deputy chairman of the Working Group for the EU Multiannual Financial Framework after 2027, č member of the Joint Commission for the Maksimir Stadium, deputy president of the Interdepartmental Working Group for the European Semester, member of the Council for the Management of Tourism Development.

But that’s not all. There are also international institutions where he goes according to his function as a minister, and there the list is long. He goes to all these functions as a governor. If he did not become the governor of the Croatian National Bank, he can now boast that he has been the governor 9 times! As Croatian governor, he is in the following bodies and organizations: International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), International Development Association (IDA), International Finance Corporation (IFC), Multilateral Investment Insurance Agency (MIGA), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Inter-American Development Bank, European Investment Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and finally the Board of Governors of the European Stabilization Mechanism.

Ćorić he also got new helpć. In addition to the two existing state secretaries, which is the level immediately below the minister, Matej Bule(32) was also appointed as state secretary to the Ministry of Finance. It is about a young economist who, as a 22-year-old, did analyzes for the Lipa Association in which he advocated for lower state spending because growth cannot be financed by public spending. His first job was at the CNB, where he was employed in 2017 and worked as a researcher. The CNB once praised his work that he did with a colleague: “Effects of the use of funds from European funds on the operations of non-financial companies in Croatia”, where he proved the extremely positive effects of the inflow of European money.

At the beginning of last year, he transferred to the Ministry of Finance, where through a public competition he was accepted into the Financial Inspectorate, to the position of Head of the Sector for the Supervision of Financial Entities. But he soon became the chief advisor to the former Minister of Primorje. Now under Ćorić, he went a step higher.
