Spotify officially presents Page Match and will allow you to buy physical books from the application

Spotify has announced two news related to the publishing sector: the official launch of Page Match and the partnership with Bookshop.org to purchase physical books from the platform.

The function Page Matchleaked in mid-January, is now available on Spotify, where it allows users synchronize books in physical or digital format (‘eBooks’) with your version in audiobook on the platform.

“We believe that when you find a book that completely hooks you, you shouldn’t have to put it down. Instead of stopping or losing pace when you need to get in the car or go for a run, now you can continue with the story,” Spotify said on its website.

The company has explained that the function seeks to ensure that books can adapt to users’ schedules, “turning every moment of the day into opportunities to enjoy a great story.”

Premium subscribers and Audiobook+ plan members can use Page Match with their monthly quota of audiobook listening hours, while free users can use it with specific audiobooks they have purchased in the app.

Regarding its availability, the Page Match function will be available in the countries where the audiobook section can be accessedsuch as the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and some European countries. However, Spain is not among them at the moment.

PARTNERSHIP WITH BOOKSHOP.ORG

The other novelty announced by Spotify is the partnership with Bookshop.org, which will allow users buy physical books from the Spotify app.

In this way, the company seeks greater user interaction with this type of formats, which accounted for 73% of the publishing sector’s income in 2025. “Purchases made on Spotify will directly support those bookstores and the authors who gave life to that story,” the company has stated on its website.

“By connecting with readers and connecting with Bookshop.org, Spotify financially supports independent bookstores with every purchase,” said Bookshop.org founder and CEO Andy Hunter.

The option to purchase physical books within the Spotify app will be available in United States and United Kingdom at the end of spring.
