This is the largest aerospace fair in the world: from commercial airplanes to combat ships

Singapore kicked off this Tuesday the tenth edition of its aerospace fair, the largest in Asia, with the participation of more than 1,000 companies from fifty countries and the exhibition of commercial and combat aircraft, at a key moment for the industry given the rebound in tourist flights and the geopolitical challenges facing the continent.

On Monday, Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong took advantage of the opening of the fair to highlight how aviation and the aerospace industry continue to be two engines of growth for the Asian city-state.

“They connect us with the world, consolidate high-value capabilities in our country and, most importantly, create good jobs for Singaporeans,” the Minister of Trade and Industry also highlighted on his social networks.

Data from Changi Airport, which is hosting the event this week, backs up his argument. In 2025, its terminals recorded an all-time high of 69.98 million passengers, according to a press release from the airport group.

Likewise, the hot spots in the region appear as a backdrop to the meeting, including Taiwan, a self-governed island that Beijing does not rule out invading, China’s weapons development and its territorial disputes.

Last November, China unveiled the entry into service of its third aircraft carrier, the Fujian, equipped with electromagnetic launch technology, making the Asian giant the second country in the world to have this advance in its fleet, along with the United States.

Among the companies participating in the fair are giants in the sector such as the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus and the Americans Boeing and Gulfstream.

Also companies such as Radia, based in the US, which presents the largest aircraft in the world (WindRunner) at the fair, and Transcelestial, specialized in laser-based space communications.

The organizers point out that this year drones and artificial intelligence also take center stage.

The event management expects that the number of visitors, both professionals and the general public, will be higher than the previous edition, when almost 60,000 were registered.
