Berlin, flights suspended until tomorrow: what’s happening

They occurred during the day many cancellations at Berlin-Brandenburg (Ber) airport, located on the southern outskirts of the capital. The inconveniences at that time only affected departures, while arriving flights were still managing to land. According to the spokeswoman, about 35 of the 180 scheduled takeoffs were cancelled by noon, followed by several dozen more.

The German Meteorological Service (Dwd) warned in the evening of an increased risk of glass ice formation in the west and north-west of Brandenburg. Berlin has been experiencing a period of cold that has lasted for weeks, combined with snow and freezing rain, which has caused serious transport disruptions.
