‘Sundays’, ‘Anatomy of a Moment’ and ‘Music for Hitler’, favorites for the Union of Actors and Actresses Awards

Alberto Amman, Patricia López Arnaiz, Mario Casas, Fernando Tejero, Javier Cámara, Carolina Yuste, Álvaro Cervantes, Blanca Soroa and Carlos Hipólito are some of the nominees of the 34th edition of the Union of Actors and Actresses Awardswhich will be held on March 16 at the Teatro Circo Price in Madrid.

The Union of Actors and Actresses announced this Monday the name of the nominees who have been chosen from among the candidates presented for this edition of the awardsand who will choose to gain recognition from the profession for their work carried out in the different categories of film, theater and television.

Among the most recognized works this year by the performers, titles such as the films ‘On Sundays’with six nominations; ‘Dinner’with four nominations o’Deaf’ with three; the series ‘Anatomy of a moment’with four nominations; ‘The brief life’with three, or ‘Superstar‘ y ‘Jakarta’, with two; and in theater, the works ‘Music for Hitler’with three nominations, or ‘The Lady of Trevélez’with two.

Specifically, the nominees for Best Actor in an International Production are: Alberto Ammann, for the film ‘Trapped’; Jordi Mollá, for ‘My wish list’ and Rubén Sanz, for ‘Isla Brava’; and the nominees for Best Actress in an International Production are: Carla Díaz, for ‘Delicious’; Lucía Barrado, for ‘Fall for me’ and Sara Jiménez, for ‘Mango’.

For their part, the nominees for Best Leading Actor in Film are: Alberto San Juan (La cena); José Ramón Soroiz (Maspalomas) and Mario Casas (Very far); and the nominees for Best Leading Actress in Film are: Ángela Cervantes (The Fury), Patricia López Arnaiz (Los Domingos) and Susana Abaitua (A Ghost in the Battle).

In the categories of Best Actor and Supporting Actress in Film, the following have been nominated: Víctor Sáinz, for ‘Los Domingos’; Fernando Tejero, for ‘The Captive’; Carlos Serrano, for ‘The Dinner’; Anna Castillo, for ‘Wolfgang’; Elvira Mínguez, for ‘La cena’ and Mabel Rivera, for ‘Los Domingos’.

The nominees for Best Supporting Actor in Film are: Álvaro Cervantes, for ‘Sorda’; Tristán Ulloa, for ‘Romería’ and Miguel Garcés, for ‘Los Domingos’; and the nominees for Best Supporting Actress in Film are: Elena Irureta, for ‘Sorda’; Nagore Aranburu, for ‘Los Domingos’ and Miryam Gallego, for ‘Romería’.

In the category of Best New Actor, the following have been nominated: Hugo Welzel, for ‘Enemigos’; Julio Peña, for ‘The Captive; Aarón Cobos, for ‘Godspell’; and the nominees for Best New Actress are: Blanca Soroa, for ‘Los Domingos’; Miriam Garlo, for ‘Sorda’ and Nora Hernández, for ‘La cena’.

For his part, Carlos Hipólito (Music for Hitler); Daniel Albaladejo (La Señorita de Trevélez) and Juan Vinuesa (1936) have been nominated for Best Leading Actor in Theatre; and Irene Escolar (People, places and things); Toni Acosta (A Mother of a Movie) and Nathalie Poza (A Streetcar Named Desire), as Best Leading Actress in Theater.

Meanwhile, the nominees for Best Supporting Actor in Theater are: Víctor Clavijo, for ‘Blaubeeren’; Néstor Rubio, for ‘Ifigenia’ and Mariano Estudillo, for ‘Fuenteovejuna’; and the nominees for Best Supporting Actress in Theater are: Belén Ponce de León, for ‘Vulcano’; Ania Hernández, for ‘Numancia’ and Julia Piera, for ‘La Señorita de Trevélez’.

Additionally, the nominees for Best Supporting Actor in Theater are: Cristóbal Suárez, for ‘Music for Hitler’; Jimmy Castro, for ‘La pathetic’ and José Luis Torrijo, for ‘Mondays in the sun’; and the nominees for Best Supporting Actress in Theater are: Kiti Mánver, for ‘Music for Hitler’; Mariola Peña, for ‘Cinderella, the musical’ and Mina El Hammani, for ‘Las troyanas’.

The nominees for Best Leading Actor on Television are: Álvaro Morte (Anatomy of an Instant); Javier Cámara (Jakarta) and Secun de la Rosa (Superestar); and the nominees for Best Leading Actress on Television are: Ingrid García-Jonsson (Superestar); Carolina Yuste (The song) and Carla Quílez (Jakarta).

In the categories of Best Actor and Supporting Actress on Television, the following have been nominated: Miki Esparbé, for ‘Anatomy of an Instant’; Héctor Carballo, for ‘The Brief Life’; Felipe Andrés, for ‘Poquita fe’; Alejandra Onieva, for ‘Anatomy of a moment; Susana Hernáiz, for ‘Dreams of freedom’ and Natalia Huarte, for ‘Ena. Queen Victoria Eugenie’.

Likewise, the nominees for Best Supporting Actor on Television are: David Lorente, for ‘Anatomy of an Instant’; Carlos Bardem, for ‘The Agency’ and Carlos González, for ‘La Vida Breve’; and the nominees for Best Supporting Actress on Television are: Candela Peña, for ‘Furia’; Leonor Watling, for ‘La Vida Breve’ and María Jesús Hoyos, for ‘Poquita Fe’.

In addition to the awards corresponding to the theater, film and television categories, three other special awards will be presented at the ceremony: the ‘Toda una Vida’ Award, which recognizes the professional career of actors and actresses; the ‘Union Special Award’, awarded by the Union Government Board that recognizes the work and social commitment of a person or entity; and the ‘Women in Union-Pilar Bardem Award’, awarded by the Union’s Equality Secretariat for the commitment to equality in different social spheres.
