Bluesky adds drafts for posts

Bluesky has implemented the option of save draft posts so that users will be able to prepare the content of a publication and store it to share it or edit it again later from their social network account.

Drafts are an option where users can create a post, with text, images or videos, and store it locally on their social network account before sharing it. Thus, it allows tweak or add new content later facilitating a way to plan and manage posts without losing progress.

Currently, when creating a post in Bluesky, it had to be shared immediately if you did not want it to be lost or repeated later. However, with the launch of the update to version v1.116, the ‘microblogging’ platform now allows you to save drafts to share them later.

This is what the company has shared through its official Bluesky account, where it has detailed that it is a function designed for “those who think too much and are perfectionists.” In this way, they join the majority of social networks such as X, Threads, Instagram or Facebook, which already have a Drafts function.

To access the drafts, just open the option to create a new publication and click on the ‘Drafts’ button located in the upper right corner of the box. After that, the drafts available for further editing will appear. In the same way, after creating a publication, all you have to do is click on the same ‘Drafts’ button to store it.

In this sense, it is a new function with which Bluesky tries to advance its objective of offer a better experience to usersas it recently announced with its plans for 2026, with which it intends to strengthen its user base through improvements in content publication, profile discovery and interoperability.
