Israel receives a shipment of crude oil from Venezuela for the first time since 2020

The shipment is being transferred to the Bazen Group, the country’s largest oil laboratory in the Middle East, said sources involved in the agreement, who asked to remain anonymous because the information has not been officially released.

Earlier this year, US forces captured Maduro, and the Trump administration announced that it would take over Venezuela’s oil sales. Israel does not publish the sources of its oil supplies, and oil tankers sometimes disappear from digital tracking systems as soon as they approach its ports.

The shipment, when it arrives, will be the first shipment of its kind since mid-2020, when Israel received about 470,000 barrels. According to Bloomberg, Bezan refused to comment. The Ministry of Energy also refused to comment on the source of the oil that reaches the country.

This agreement is the latest in signs that Maduro’s removal from government is changing the country’s oil routes. So far, most of its production has been sold to China. In the past month, shipments have been sold to buyers in India, Spain, the US and now Israel.
