“Epstein case”: an investigation has been launched against one of the architects of the Oslo agreements

Norwegian police have launched an investigation against diplomat and politician Terje Rud-Larsen, one of the architects of the Oslo Accords. He is suspected of corruption in connection with the Jeffrey Epstein case. His wife Mona Juhl, who was forced to resign from her post as Norway’s ambassador to Jordan and Iraq, was also involved in the investigation.

Investigators are checking media publications according to which Epstein bequeathed five million dollars to the two children of Yule and Rud-Larsen. Materials published by the US Department of Justice report that a few weeks before his arrest in 2019, Epstein met with Rud-Larsen in Paris.

According to the BBC, a search was carried out in connection with the case. The couple’s lawyers say that their clients are cooperating with the investigation and expressed confidence that the suspicions will not be confirmed.

It should be noted that Larsen also served as UN Special Coordinator for the Occupied Territories and UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process. In 1996, he served as Deputy Prime Minister of Norway for a short period.

After leaving his post as Special Coordinator in 2004, he headed the UN International Peace Institute. He left this post in 2020 due to financial ties to Epstein. “These connections were a big mistake, I repent of them,” he said then.
