iPhone 18 Pro improves design and supports 5G satellite connection

After changing the design on the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple this year will focus on refining details on the new generation smartphone. The traditional black color may be abandoned this year.

iPhone 18 Pro will also mark a step forward in connection technology developed by Apple with the C2 modem. According to Bloomberg and The Informationthe new modem supports the NR-NTN (non-terrestrial network) standard, allowing the iPhone to connect directly to satellites to access the Internet instead of being limited to emergency messages as currently. The device can maintain satellite connection even when kept in a pocket or placed indoors thanks to upgrading partner satellite network infrastructure.

Meanwhile, although the price of processor chips and memory increased sharply due to demand from AI data centers, leading analysts such as Ming-Chi Kuo and Jeff Pu believe that Apple will not increase the price of iPhone 18 Pro. The company’s strategy is to accept a reduction in hardware profit margin to maintain competitiveness and compensate with service revenue.

iPhone 18 is expected to launch in September, along with Apple’s first folding screen iPhone model.
