The Russian military’s torture and punishment methods in the war in Ukraine are exposed

Hard documentation published in the “Daily Mail” reveals the cruel and humiliating methods of punishment in the ranks of the Russian army on the Ukrainian front. In the video, a Russian commander is seen stripping soldiers he describes as “cowards, alcoholics and idiots”, and tying them to trees in the snow in sub-zero temperatures.

The soldiers, some of whom looked half-naked in the snow, carried humiliating signs around their necks with inscriptions such as “alcoholic”, “coward” and “I complained about the commander”. The commander was recorded beating the soldiers and accusing them of abandoning their positions and risking the lives of their comrades in arms.

“You must follow orders,” the commander shouted at one of the soldiers, who begged for his life and promised that the act would not be repeated. In another case, the commander is seen reprimanding an older soldier for disobeying orders, while belittling his experience and age.

The current record joins previous cases of severe abuse within Putin’s military machine. Last January, a video was published in which a Russian soldier was seen tied upside down to a tree in the extreme cold, while another soldier, who was also tied to a tree, was forced to eat snow by his commander. The frightened soldiers were seen shaking in only their underwear after being stripped of their uniforms. The commander is heard in the video mocking the soldiers’ sexuality and hurling curses at them for asking to abandon their positions and not following the orders given to them.
