New Year’s Eve fireworks viewing spots in Ho Chi Minh City

 

Ho Chi Minh City organizes 17 fireworks display locations on New Year’s Eve of the Year of the Horse, visitors can choose locations in public spaces or in cafes and restaurants.

On Tet Binh Ngo, Ho Chi Minh City displays fireworks at 17 locations, including 4 high-range locations and 13 low-range locations distributed throughout the city. Fireworks are set off for 15 minutes at 0:00 on February 17 (the first day of Tet).

High altitude fireworks display

Saigon River Tunnel, An Khanh Ward

Saigon Riverfront Park

The park is the clearest spot to view fireworks, near the high-altitude fireworks display area at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel, An Khanh ward. The park has an area of ​​about 20 hectares, 600 m long, extending from the foot of Ba Son bridge to the roof of Thu Thiem tunnel. There are many public spaces here for visitors to watch fireworks for free. If you want comfortable seats, you can visit some cafes and restaurants located in the park. Visitors watching fireworks should arrive early to get a good position.

The cafes in Bach Dang wharf area are located right at the public fireworks display point, convenient for tourists to watch fireworks and enjoy the scenery with views of Ba Son bridge and Saigon river. Coffee shops in this area include Katinat, Highlands, 3T Egg Coffee, open from 7am to 11pm.

Dinner on the yacht

Guests can choose to enjoy dinner on the Saigon River and watch fireworks from the cruise. There are many ships serving river cruise products such as Saigon Princess (300 guests), Indochina Queen (600 guests), Ben Thanh Princess (350 guests), Ben Nghe ship (900 guests). The ships anchor at Saigon port, the route goes through Nha Rong wharf, Bach Dang wharf, Landmark 81, Khanh Hoi port, Ben Nghe wharf and back to Saigon port. Boarding time is from 5:00 p.m., ending at 9:30 p.m., ticket prices range from 410,000 VND to more than 1.5 million VND depending on train type and seating position.

Price includes boarding tickets and dinner menu. Before the fireworks display, the ship will anchor in a convenient location for visitors to go to the rooftop to admire. The end of the fireworks show also marks the end of the journey. Visitors should book two weeks in advance to choose a good location.
Another spot to observe fireworks on the Saigon River with a more reasonable price is the “Saigon River Sightseeing” tour on a double-decker river bus. On the second floor, visitors can clearly observe fireworks shooting in Thu Thiem tunnel.

26th floor, Caravelle Saigon hotel

The 26th floor area of ​​Caravelle Saigon Hotel has an area of ​​about 215 m2, can accommodate nearly 100 guests, and is one of the high-rise fireworks viewing spots in the center of Ho Chi Minh City. The open outdoor space offers a panoramic view of the Saigon River and Ba Son Bridge, helping visitors fully watch the light shows on New Year’s Eve. The entrance ticket to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks here costs more than 2.6 million VND per person.

In addition, hotels on Ton Duc Thang Street all have convenient locations for visitors to observe the panoramic view of fireworks displays to welcome the New Year in Saigon Ward. For tourists who love quiet space, hotels also provide private dining room services on high floors, serving individual guests and groups, with costs starting from 15 million VND per package.

Elisa floating restaurant

Elisa floating restaurant, Xom Chieu ward, with a prime location right next to the banks of the Saigon River, is also one of the “top” fireworks viewing spots in Ho Chi Minh City every holiday and New Year. Experience package to watch fireworks on the river from 9:30 p.m. to 0:30 a.m., priced at more than 2.5 million VND per guest. Elisa is considered the largest floating restaurant in Vietnam, able to accommodate about 1,000 guests at a time. This destination is also loved by young people thanks to its modern infrastructure, clean green landscape, and many beautiful photography angles. Around the park there are many restaurants and cafes, making it convenient to sit and enjoy fireworks without being obscured by tall buildings.

Back Beach Central Square, Vung Tau Ward

Tam Thang Tower, Vung Tau

Tam Thang Tower at Back Beach, Vung Tau was just inaugurated at the end of August, attracting thousands of people every day to admire and experience the light art and water music space.

Next to the tower, the surrounding square has an area of ​​more than 17,000 m2, designed as a multi-purpose community space, including a water music stage, fountain area, lookout cape and underground service area. Tourists can choose restaurants and cafes around the tower to watch high-altitude fireworks, avoiding crowding.

Oaky 36 Restaurant and Cafe

The restaurant – coffee shop is located on the 36th floor of Oaky Vung Tau building, right in the center of Le Hong Phong street, opposite the fireworks display area. From here, visitors can enjoy cuisine while watching high-altitude fireworks over the sea. Entrance fee is 300,000 VND for adults, 200,000 VND for children; Drinks and dishes cost from 50,000 to 500,000 VND. On holidays and weekends, the restaurant is often crowded, visitors should book a table in advance to have a good location.

Ba Ria Park Square, Ba Ria Ward

Located in the center of Ba Ria ward, Ba Ria Park is considered one of the highlight projects of the urban area with a scale of about 44 hectares, total investment of more than 700 billion VND.

During Tet, the park is decorated with many flowers and landscapes around a cluster of artificial mountains covered with grass and trees, creating a curving shape in the open space. Interspersed are fountains, which are illuminated with color-changing lights at night, attracting people and tourists to stroll around and take photos.

Around the square area, there are many restaurants with convenient locations to enjoy food while waiting for the fireworks display. Some addresses chosen by diners include Nha Meo beer grill, Northwest Heo Mot or Gold 79 seafood, with prices starting from about 200,000 VND per person. During holidays and New Year, there are many customers coming in, many restaurants are often full early. Visitors should book a table in advance to keep a good location and be proactive in their experience.

Low altitude fireworks display

13 low-level fireworks display locations include: Dam Sen Cultural Park (Binh Thoi ward); Binh Dien market area (Binh Dong ward); Cu Chi Tunnels historical relic site (An Nhon Tay commune); Tan My Ward Administrative Center Square; Marina tower (Saigon ward); Vuon Cau residential area project (Lai Thieu ward);

Green Square urban – commercial – service area (Dong Hoa ward); Pier 914 relic area (Con Dao special zone); Kim Long villa area (Rach Dia bridge area, Nha Be commune); Rung Sac Heroic Martyrs Temple (Can Gio commune); along with points at the Cultural and Sports Centers of Dau Tieng commune and Minh Thanh commune.

Fireworks displays are all open for free to serve residents and tourists to celebrate the New Year.

During the Lunar New Year, Ho Chi Minh City also organizes many activities to serve people such as the spring flower festival at Tao Dan Park, flower streets, and book streets in the central area (Nguyen Hue and Le Loi streets). This year, the city also renovated and removed fences from 9 long-term vacant lots to create public flower gardens, increasing living space for people.
