Dust storm expected in Israel, it is important to limit physical activity

The Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Health warn that from midday in all parts of the country increased air pollution with dust is expected, and air quality will deteriorate significantly due to the large number of inhaled particles.

The dust storm is being attributed to southwesterly winds that are blowing dust and sand from North Africa into our region.

Because of this, sensitive populations—people with heart and lung disease, the elderly, children, and pregnant women—should avoid strenuous outdoor exercise. Others are advised to reduce their level of physical activity.

Air quality is expected to improve throughout Saturday in the Galilee and Golan Heights, while haze and dust will remain in the rest of the country.

You can monitor air condition monitoring stations on the website https://air.sviva.gov.il/.
