Olympians: new information about Elias Lajusen’s health

The Finnish freeski skier spent the night in the hospital under observation.

Finland Elias Lajunen fell violently during the freeskin big air qualifying on Sunday at the Olympics. After the fall, the Finn was carried off the slope on a stretcher.

According to the Olympic Committee, he spent the night between Sunday and Monday under observation in the hospital.

There is now reassuring information about Lajunen’s health. On Monday, Lajunen was able to return to the race village in good health, the Finnish team announced.

“Elias has been examined very thoroughly and is doing well. He is now recovering from the blow to his head. We would like to thank the Italian race organization for the very professional treatment”, says the doctor of the Finnish team Sikri Tukainen.

Lajunen’s jump fell short.

Sunday in the qualifying Lajunen crashed in the first round. The Finn’s jump fell short, and he remained lying on the surface of the snow for a long time. The medical staff was quick to help Laju.

He didn’t take part in the second round, and the race ended there for Lajusen.
