Great Britain must act more quickly in increasing defense spending. Starmer

On the eve of the fourth anniversary of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Prime Minister of Great Britain has announced that Great Britain must act faster in increasing defense spending.

Keir Starmer has already pledged to increase defense spending to 2.5 percent of GDP next year, and to 3 percent after the next election.

“We are facing the threat of Russian aggression. In a few days it will be four years since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine. We want a just and lasting peace, but it will not eliminate the Russian threat, and we must be vigilant because it will affect every person in this room, every citizen of our country. Therefore, we should strengthen our steps. It means that we need to move forward faster in terms of defense spending,” said the Prime Minister of Great Britain, adding that defense strengthening is not only about increasing funding, but also about cooperation with like-minded countries, especially Europe.
