On Monday, February 16, a court in Milan decided that it was impossible to extradite an Israeli citizen to Russia, who the day before was detained at Milan airport at the request of the Russian authorities. On February 14, an anonymous message was published in the Associazione dei Russi Liberi group on the social network Facebook about the detention of an Israeli citizen at Milan airport at the request of the Russian authorities. On the evening of February 15, the same group reported that the detainee had been released and was in Milan awaiting trial to consider the issue of extradition. “The family already has a lawyer, and the Israeli consulate has also been notified of the situation,” the message said.
The editors of Newsru.co.il contacted the Israeli Foreign Ministry on February 15 about this situation. There have been no official comments yet.
