Facebook ‘urges’ users to update pro mode

Since the end of January, many people have received notifications to switch to professional mode (Professional Mode) with different deadlines. “Facebook is streamlining the settings. Your profile no longer has the option to display public followers. After January 29, we will enable pro mode for the main profile and keep public followers.”

Facebook’s Professional Mode was introduced by Meta in 2021, limited to the US before launching globally at the end of 2022 as an option next to Personal Page. In this mode, users can earn money through Reels Play; Track metrics through the Pro Dashboard with post performance and information like views, gender, age – data that’s only available on fanpages or groups. This mode also shows an overview of post engagement and follower count, as well as tips for creating highly effective content.

On groups, some expressed dissatisfaction when Facebook automatically changed. “I like the look of my personal page and have no need to change it because it makes things unnecessarily complicated,” said the account Tien Nguyen write. “It feels like you’re being forced to do something you don’t like. When they receive the notification, they can choose the appropriate mode themselves. In case no selection is made, professional mode will be automatically enabled.

To turn off professional mode, users can click on the avatar, then click on the username > Turn off pro mode > Continue > Turn off.
