Rapid growth in the US economy: 4.3 percent annually

The growth rate of the US economy accelerated to 4.3 percent in July–September. The information came out only now because of the administrative shutdown.

Prices the growth rate of the so-called real gross domestic product, removed from the effect of the rise, accelerated to 4.3 percent in the third quarter of the year in the United States, the US Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) said on Tuesday.

BEA is responsible for Statistics Finland.

News agency Bloomberg by the figure exceeded the forecast in a poll of analysts it conducted.

In the previous quarter, the growth rate was 3.8 percent.

Alun originally, the BEA was supposed to issue a preliminary forecast of July-September GDP growth rates as early as October 30, but the publication was canceled due to the administrative shutdown.

The shutdown is expected to weaken the growth rate in the last quarter of the year, but a moderate growth rate is expected for next year due to, among other things, upcoming tax breaks, Bloomberg reports.

The final estimate of the third quarter’s GDP development will be published on January 22.

BEA did not say when the statistics for the last quarter and the whole year will be published. According to it, the information originally intended to be published on January 29 cannot be sufficiently collected by that time.

Correction 23.12. 7:58 p.m.: The article previously incorrectly stated that the US economy grew by 4.3 percent. The growth rate of the economy was 4.3 percent.
