Taylor Swift tops global sales charts for fourth year in a row

American megastar Taylor Swift topped global sales in 2025 for the fourth consecutive year and the sixth time in her career, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) announced on Wednesday. This prestigious distinction rewards the best-performing artist in terms of album and single sales, whether digital, physical or streaming, over the entire year. However, the total sales volume for each artist is not communicated.

The interpreter of Shake it Off36, is ahead of K-pop group Stray Kids, who reach their highest ranking to date and are in the world’s top five for the third consecutive year. Then there is the rap superstar, the Canadian Drake.

Taylor Swift receives this distinction after the October release of her 12th album, The Life Of A Showgirlwhich recorded the best launch week of the year as well as the best launch week of its entire career. The love story between Taylor Swift and American footballer Travis Kelce, with whom she officially became engaged this summer, plays a big part in it.

The year 2025 is also the year of the release of his documentary in six episodes, The End of an Erawhich shows behind the scenes of his mammoth tour around the world. Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga close the IFPI ranking.
