Trend Micro begins a new stage in Spain and Portugal under the TrendAI brand, with AI as a value proposition

Trend Micro has announced a brand change in Spain and Portugal by which the business unit for companies becomes known as Trends and which is accompanied by a strategy based on data protection in artificial intelligence (AI).

TrendAI is the result of a strategic evolution with which the technology firm intends to lead cybersecurity with artificial intelligence as a value proposition and “a complete vision of where we want to take and where we want to accompany our own clients’ business strategy“.

This was expressed by the general director of Iberia, Tony Abellán, in the press presentation of the new brand strategy, held this Wednesday, in which it was clarified that Trend Micro does not disappearbut remains the corporation in which TrendAI is part of as a spin-off.

Under the new seal, the company will offer a holistic cybersecurity solution for protect the entire data pathfrom AI infrastructure to user interaction with this technology, including artificial intelligence as such (LLM).

“Data tracking is now more important than ever, because we have to control that flow of information with AI“, added the technical director, José de la Cruz, while Abellán insisted that “it is the key moment in which we have to define together with the clients the strategy that they have to develop around data protection.”

INTENSIFICATION OF RANSOMWARE AND INFOSTEALER CAMPAIGNS

The company has closed the 2025 financial year in Iberia with sustained growth close to 23 percent in the last two years. Looking ahead to 2026 and 2027, it plans to maintain a path of sustained growth in billing and team, with a focus on deepening its AI-based platform model and reinforcing the sectoral specialization of both its team and its partner network.

Market evolution, marked by the accelerated adoption of AI, the consolidation of platforms and an increasingly demanding regulatory environment, will continue to redefine the investment priorities of organizations.

Regarding the current situation of cybersecurity in Spain, the company warns of an intensification of both ransomware campaigns as of operations to steal credentials and sensitive information with ‘infostealer’ type ‘malware’.

According to its latest data, in the last month The Qilin group has concentrated 27 percent of the ‘ransomware’ attacks detectedfollowed by NightSpire and The Gentlemen, both at 13 percent. These actors are directing their campaigns mainly against government organizations, companies in the technology industry and operators in the transportation sector.

In parallel, ‘malware’ activity specialized in information theft has also intensified. Tools like Stealc, Lumma Stealer and Recoms are among the most active threats in the last month, with campaigns aimed especially at defense organizations, financial entities and companies in the communications sector.

The priority focus of these attacks are large companies with more than a thousand employees, where the volume of credentials, privileged access and critical assets increases the potential economic and strategic impact for attackers.
