The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) announced on Wednesday that US President Donald Trump failed to prove that a documentary film shown before he won a second term in the White House distorted his reputation. The BBC said, in a filing submitted to the federal court in Miami, that it intends to argue that the lawsuit filed by Trump for $10 billion should be dismissed, because he did not prove allegations of defamation and violation of a law in Florida prohibiting unfair commercial practices. The BBC confirmed that it also intends to argue that the court does not have jurisdiction to consider Trump’s case under Florida state law and the federal rules governing civil cases, and the “legal procedures” clause.
