Magali Berdah seizes 40 million euros as a precautionary measure on Booba’s copyright

The businesswoman Magali Berdah had the Paris judicial court seize “protective title”the copyright of rapper Booba for nearly 40.6 million euros, AFP learned Thursday from a source close to the matter. Magali Berdah, who now works as a presenter on Sud Radio, blames Booba for serious damage to Shauna Events, a company she founded and specializing in influencers. She accuses the rapper of having cyberharassed and threatened the brands that worked with her, so that they would break off their collaboration.

At the request of Magali Berdah, the Paris judicial court assessed “temporarily” his debt and that of the companies Shauna Events, Sublime Talent and MB Conseil at 40,588,572 euros. A sum to be seized from the rapper’s copyright held with Sacem, Universal Music France or even Deezer, according to the source close to the matter. The amount can also be entered into the Society for the Administration of the Mechanical Reproduction Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers, Because Music and streaming platforms “via their French intermediaries or via labels”according to the decision rendered on Wednesday and of which AFP became aware on Thursday.

Also targeted are the bank accounts, vehicles and personal property of the rapper, aged 49 and residing in Miami (Florida). “Our client was not informed of the existence of this procedure”reacted to AFP the rapper’s lawyers, Gilles Vercken and Marie Roumiantseva. “If this order exists, it is because it was obtained solely on the arguments of Ms. Berdah. As soon as we become aware of it, we will contest it under the conditions provided for by law and we will pursue the applicants for abusive procedure,” they continued.
