Vietjet signed agreements worth 6.3 billion USD with American partners

Vietjet signed cooperation agreements worth more than 6.3 billion USD with American partners, focusing on aircraft engines, maintenance services and aircraft finance.

The document handover ceremony took place on February 18, in the presence of General Secretary To Lam and representatives of the leaders of Vietnam and the US, on the occasion of the General Secretary’s visit to attend the opening meeting of the Peace Council on Gaza in Washington DC at the invitation of President Donald Trump.

Accordingly, Vietjet and Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX Group – the world’s leading US aircraft engine manufacturer, signed a contract to provide GTF engines and a comprehensive maintenance service package for 44 A321neo and A321XLR aircraft, with a total value of about 5.4 billion USD.

According to the agreement, Pratt & Whitney will equip new generation engines, helping to optimize operating performance, reduce operating costs and reduce emissions, in accordance with Vietjet’s sustainable development and green transformation strategy.

Within the framework of the event, Vietjet also signed an aircraft finance agreement with the international institution Griffin Global Asset Management, providing finance for 6 Boeing 737-8 aircraft, worth about 965 million USD.

The agreement marks a step forward in Vietjet’s strategy of diversifying international capital sources, while strengthening its financial capacity and capital structure according to global standards.

The total value of the agreements is more than 6.3 billion USD, helping to increase trade turnover between the two countries in technology and financial cooperation, creating more jobs and increasing the value chain between the two economies.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, General Director of Vietjet, said the agreements in the US are the group’s strong commitment to increasing international cooperation sales and developing a modern and sustainable aircraft fleet. “This is an important foundation for the group to strengthen its financial capacity, improve operational quality and promote long-term growth for the Vietnamese and international aviation industry,” Mr. Son emphasized.

Also according to Mr. Son, the recently signed agreements continue to affirm Vietjet’s long-term vision in global integration.

These cooperation also contribute to realizing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the US, promoting capital flows, technology and value chains between the two economies in the new stage of development.
