Head of Iran’s nuclear program: “We will not give up the right to enrich uranium”

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, said that no country in the world can deprive the Islamic Republic of the right to enrich uranium. “Enrichment is the foundation of the nuclear industry. Whatever you do, you need nuclear fuel,” he said.

“The Iranian nuclear program operates in accordance with the rules established by the International Atomic Energy Agency; no one can deprive Iran of the right to develop it,” the official said, commenting on the US-Iranian negotiations held in Geneva.

The US insists on a complete stop to enrichment, threatening Iran with war. The Iranian side declares its readiness to compromise, but not to stop nuclear development. Israel also demands that the negotiations also discuss a solution to the problem of missile development and assistance to Iranian satellites.
