The Foreign Ministers of Iran and Qatar discussed the negotiations between Tehran and Washington

The ministers discussed the course of indirect negotiations on Iran’s nuclear issue, the last round of which was held on February 17 in Geneva, with the mediation of Oman.

The interlocutors emphasized the continuation of consultations and interaction aimed at promoting diplomatic efforts in the framework of regional cooperation.

Qatar, like Oman, is a key mediator in the dialogue between Tehran and Washington.

After the negotiations on February 17, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced mutual understanding on a number of issues that may be included in the draft of the future agreement. Washington said the talks had gone well, but Tehran was still not ready to accept the White House’s “red lines.”
