The dollar falls again and reaches its lowest price in five months

The exchange rate began the week with the same trend as in recent days. The wholesale price, which is negotiated by banks, shows a drop of 0.5% and listed at $1,368. The inflows of foreign currency and rates in pesos to carry trade explain part of this dynamic observed in recent weeks.

As a result, the retail price also dropped. Banco Nación offered dollars to $1.390 after 11 in the morning. Last week it broke $1,400 for the first time since September.

On Friday it was learned that the BCRA reserves they made a jump of US$ 1.3 billion. Part of this increase was attributed to the income of dollars made by the province of Santa Fe from the issuance of bonds in the international market that was completed last December.

They are currencies that he could sell gradually in the market to obtain pesos and finance the infrastructure projects that he committed to that financing on Wall Street. That additional supply of dollars is another of the factors that make the price fall.

In the financial market the screens show that Argentine bonds started the week with numbers in red. Argentine Global bonds have generalized falls, which causes the country risk to rise again to 525 points.

Argentine stocks on Wall Street, for their part, showed mixed results at the beginning of trading, with companies on the rise (Irsa, Galicia, BBVA and Cresud) and others with falls (Tenaris, Edenor or Pampa Energía).
