Customs duties: invalidated by the American Supreme Court, suspended in Europe… is the EU-Trump agreement dead and buried?

Is the much-maligned trade compromise which was concluded in July 2025 in Turnberry (Scotland) between Donald Trump and the head of the Commission, the German Ursula von der Leyen on behalf of the EU, dead? This could be the consequence of the shock decision of the American Supreme Court, which on Friday invalidated most of the customs duties that the President of the United States had introduced under a law intended for national emergencies, known as “IEEPA”.
