The former ambassador of Great Britain to the USA was arrested and then released

The headlines about the arrest of Peter Mandelson, the former ambassador of the United Kingdom to the United States, were on the front pages of the leading newspapers of Great Britain, but today he was already released from custody.

The 72-year-old former depan was arrested yesterday on suspicion of abuse of official authority.

Mandelson was removed from one of the most prestigious positions in the British diplomatic service in September, when his closeness with the American financier Jeffrey Epstein, the founder of the international network of child abusers, became more clear.

Earlier this month, police launched a criminal investigation into Mandelson after Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s government turned over correspondence between the former ambassador and Epstein to law enforcement.

After a 12-hour interrogation in Epstein’s case, former Prince Andrew was released a few days ago.
