An unusual security alert: the Prime Minister of Australia secretly evacuates

According to the Federal Police announcement, the security forces were called to the Prime Minister’s residence around 6:00 PM following a report of an “alleged security incident”. The official statement of the police stated: “A thorough scan of the secure facility was carried out and nothing suspicious was found.” It was also emphasized in the announcement that “there is currently no threat to the community or to public safety, and additional information will be provided at the appropriate time.” Following the complete denial of the threat and the completion of all the necessary scans in the mansion, the Prime Minister was allowed to return to his residence only after 9:00 p.m.

A spokesperson from the Prime Minister’s Office said in an official response to the incident: “We trust the federal police to do their job, and we thank them for their dedicated work.” Earlier that day, Albanizi’s daily routine went on as planned, and he even had an hour-long filmed interview at his residence with journalist Carl Stefanovich from the Australian “Nine” network, just a few hours before the security incident began.

Against the background of growing tensions, it is possible to notice in recent times a significantly increased and prominent security presence around the Australian Prime Minister during his public appearances. Albanizi’s official residence is located near the parliament building, and is considered a particularly secure destination. Even though it was a false alarm, the quick evacuation testifies to the high level of vigilance of the law enforcement authorities towards potential threats to the country’s leadership.
