Workers’ Committee of CIM weakened strike sanctions for the sake of negotiations

Eight days after the strike was announced, the working committee of the CIM shipping company announced a softening of its position and a move to limited sanctions.

According to the head of the workers’ committee, Oren Caspi, this is due to the company’s CEO Eli Glickman receiving a mandate from the buyer, the German company Hapag-Lloyd, to negotiate with employees.

“We did not want to destroy the company, this is not in our interests and not in the interests of Glickman. We are starting serious and respectful negotiations. As negotiations progress, we will return to normal work, and if there is no progress, we will go back to a full strike,” Caspi emphasized
