US expanded sanctions against Iran

On the eve of a new round of negotiations in Geneva, the United States expanded sanctions against Iran, adding more than 30 legal entities and individuals, as well as maritime vessels, to the sanctions lists. This was announced by the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.

The document contains the names of four Iranian citizens, 17 legal entities registered in Iran, Liberia, the United Arab Emirates, Panama, Turkey, the Virgin Islands and the Marshall Islands.

Sanctions were introduced against 12 vessels.

The press release notes that the sanctions affected individuals and legal entities, as well as vessels that facilitate illegal sales of Iranian oil and the production of ballistic missiles and other types of weapons in Iran.
