The Ukrainian Air Force Command today said that Russia had attacked the country’s territory with two Zircon supersonic anti-ship missiles, 11 Iskander-M tactical ballistic missiles and converted S-400 air defense missiles, 24 Kh-101 long-range cruise missiles and 2 Kh-69 tactical cruise missiles, and 420 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of all types.

“Air defense units intercepted two Zircon missiles, four Iskander-M and S-400 missiles, all Kh-101 and Kh-69 missiles, and 374 UAVs. 5 ballistic missiles and 46 UAVs hit 32 locations, debris fell in 15 areas. Information about some remaining missiles is being clarified,” the agency said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the target of the raid was “important infrastructure and civilian buildings”, including gas infrastructure in Poltava province, and transformer stations in Kiev and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts. According to him, the attack caused “devastation” in eight provinces with many private houses and apartments damaged and dozens of people injured.

“Most of the enemy’s weapons were intercepted, thanks to partners quickly transferring part of the air defense missiles committed at the Ramstein conference. Unfortunately, there are still places that were hit,” President Zelensky said.
