Lucas Ronier demands squad after Coritiba defeat

“We started the first half well, pushing the opponent, but we fell in the second half and conceded the goal. There’s no point coming here and saying we have to work. We have to do something different. It’s putting the ball on the ground and playing. Only then will we turn this page. You have to have courage to play for Coritiba. That’s what Series A is. If we don’t do it, the guys will go out there and do it”, said Ronier.

Ronier is the leader in direct participation in goals for Coritiba this season. The striker completed his tenth game of the year and had two goals and four assists.

Controversial penalty decrees yet another defeat for Coritiba

The match was marked by a penalty awarded by referee Wilton Pereira Sampaio, after a move involving goalkeeper Pedro Morisco. In the move, shirt 1 shared the ball with Tapia inside the area. After review by VAR, the referee confirmed the penalty.

After the game, striker Breno Lopes commented on the move. “We ended up making too many mistakes with our shots, and football is about efficiency. At no point did the referee look at the foul on our defender; he only looked at the penalty. But there’s no point in regretting it, it’s time to think about the next game”, said Breno Lopes.

Defender Jacy also regretted the move and demanded more attention from the team. “One mistake and they manage to score. We always have to pay attention to the details. I didn’t understand the penalty. It was a normal tackle, but if he thought it was a penalty, there’s nothing we can do,” said Jacy.
