Thirteen scriptwriters are trained in the SGAE 2026 Foundation Audiovisual Laboratories

The SGAE Foundation announced this Thursday the 13 authors selected to participate in its Laboratories Audiovisual Creation 2026; six for Film Script Writing (in its 14th edition) and seven for Television Series Creation (13th edition).

The jury was made up of professionals from the audiovisual sector Miguel Ferrari, Liz Lobato, Sonia Martí, Alberto Morais, Paz Piñar and Pablo Valiente, and chaired by the filmmaker Sigfrid Monleón, chose, from a total of 313 projects presented, the six creators who will participate in the 14th Film Script Writing Laboratory: Gema del Castillo (for Waiting for Murillo), Denise Despeyroux (for Criatura), Marta Herrero (for Two Sisters), Nacho Ruipérez (for The Iron Woman), Fernando Tato (for Baixamar) and Goizeder Urtasun (for Iris).

Through this initiative, the aim is to promote the writing of original texts, promote collaborative experiences, the exchange of ideas between contemporary creators and provide them with support during the creation process.

Aimed at the members of the General Society of Authors and Editors (SGAE), these laboratories will offer those selected the possibility of developing their projects under the supervision of two renowned professionals in the sector: Sigfrid Monleón (director and screenwriter of feature films such as La Bicicleta or El consul de Sodoma) and Carmen Llano (screenwriter of television series such as Hospital Central, Acacias 38 or La Promesa).

The scriptwriters will focus on the writing tasks of 12 audiovisual projects (six feature film scripts and six television series scripts) between February and June 2026. During the process, various collective work meetings will be held, both in person and online, between the selected authors and the tutors of each laboratory to share their works.

Besides, The SGAE Foundation will provide each of the projects with financial aid of 5,000 euros.
