Swedish media: A serious threat to the Nordic power grid

A serious external threat has targeted the energy infrastructure in all the Nordic countries, says the Swede TV4:n sources.

According to TV4, the threat related to foreign power must be taken very seriously. The media reports that several Nordic authorities have gone into alert mode and the Swedish police have been ordered to monitor socially critical activities related to energy supplies.

So far, it is unclear what kind of threat the Nordic energy infrastructure has been.

The threater has reportedly given a deadline before striking. TV4 does not know how the attack is carried out. According to the information received by the media, the threat has implied that it could strike in the near future.

Swedish police confirm parts of TV4’s information.

“We are aware of the information, we are actively monitoring the situation and we are cooperating with the relevant actors”, says Karin Styreniusthe press representative of the National Police Media Center.

The Swedish Energy Agency also confirms that they had received “some information” about the situation.
