Superstar Ronaldo is buying into a second division club

Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has joined the Spanish second division club UD Almeria purchased. The Portuguese secured 25 percent of the shares in the club through his company CR7 Sports Investments, as Almeria announced. “It has long been my goal to contribute to football beyond the pitch. UD Almeria is a club with a solid base and clear growth potential,” the 41-year-old Portuguese was quoted as saying.

The majority shareholder and president of the club is Mohamed Al Khereiji and his SMC Group from Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo has been playing in the Saudi league for Al Nassr since 2023. Al Khereiji is a person closely linked economically to Al Nassr’s activities. Almeria is aiming for promotion in La Liga and is currently in third place. med
