Buenos Aires City Hall will consider renaming Palestine Street to Bibas Street

Shiri and Yarden Bibas, as well as their children, four-year-old Kfir and nine-month-old Ariel, were kidnapped by Palestinian terrorists from Kibbutz Nahal Oz on Black Saturday, October 7, 2023. Mother and children were brutally murdered in the Gaza Strip, Yarden was released after 484 days of captivity.

Footage of the kidnapping of Shira and her little red-haired sons was seen around the world. Kfir and Ariel became symbols of the fight for the return of the hostages. However, they themselves did not have to return home – the terrorists tortured them with their bare hands.

The boys had Argentine citizenship. The Argentine Jewish community is the largest in Latin America. There are also cells of terrorist organizations operating in the country. In 1994, Iran and Hezbollah carried out a terrorist attack on a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, killing 85 people and injuring about 300.

“The Palestinian leadership has allowed terrorist organizations to define their national identity. Buenos Aires should not recognize this entity,” Santoro said. Jewish organizations in the country support the initiative.
