What does Apple week bring us?

The message is accompanied by a short video showing an animated Apple logo on a silver aluminum surface, which immediately sparked speculation about the design of the new devices. Instead of the traditional one-hour live event, Apple opted for a multi-day announcement strategy. It is expected that the company will introduce new products starting Monday, March 2, through press releases and short videos. The highlight of the week is scheduled for Wednesday, the fourth of March, when the “Special Experience” will be held in New York, London and Shanghai, an exclusive event where selected journalists and influencers will be the first to try all the new products.

A transmitter for the masses?

Rumors about a completely new, affordable MacBook attract the most attention. According to information published by Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing to enter the market of cheaper laptops with a model that would compete with Chromebooks and basic Windows laptops. This device could revive the “MacBook” name and be positioned below the MacBook Air series, with a target audience of students and educational institutions. In order to achieve a lower price, which could range between 600 and 750 US dollars, Apple will reportedly make several compromises. Instead of the powerful M-series chips, this laptop could run an A-series chip, probably the A18 Pro, borrowed from the iPhone line. A 12.9-inch LCD screen is expected, and in order to reduce costs, the device will probably not have a keyboard backlight or True Tone technology. The base model of the iPad should get an A18 chip, which is significant because it could enable it to support Apple Intelligence functions, which last year’s model did not have. At the same time, the iPad Air will receive an upgrade to the M4 IP, which will bring it even closer to the performance of the Pro model. No major design changes are expected for both iPads.

What about more powerful Macs?

Apple’s week of announcements will not bypass users who are looking for top performance. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are expected to be upgraded with the latest generation of chips, the M5 Pro and M5 Max. The same is expected for the MacBook Air, which should receive the base version of the M5 chip.
