PNJ replaced the general director

Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) on the evening of February 27 announced the transfer of the position of general director. The decision will take effect from April 3.

Mr. Le Tri Thong resigned “according to his personal wishes and according to the succession planning roadmap previously prepared by the Board of Directors”. After leaving the position of general director, he still held the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors here to focus on long-term strategic planning.

According to PNJ, Mr. Le Tri Thong plans to develop his career towards becoming a financial investor and regenerating businesses, so he wants to spend time pursuing new business opportunities. Mr. Thong discussed with the Board of Directors this orientation from 2024 and the company has proactively developed a thorough transfer plan to ensure stable operation.

The successor is Mr. Phan Quoc Cong, who has more than 30 years of experience in the field of business administration and management. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree and has held management positions at many units such as Vietnam Textile and Garment Corporation, Electrolux Vietnam, SmithKline Beecham and Nestlé Vietnam. During the period 2004-2014, he was known as the “father” of X-men shampoo when he founded International Household Products Joint Stock Company (ICP).

From 2015 to present, Mr. Cong has shifted his focus to investing and developing technology application businesses, holding the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors, co-founder or member of the Board of Directors of Saigon Food, Wakamono, Moonshot Biotech and One Solution Tech. He was also a member of the Board of Directors at PNJ, Mobile World and Mekong Capital.

According to PNJ, the company chose this time to transfer the position of general director when it has gone through a period of many changes in the industry with positive business results. Last year, the company recorded a profit exceeding 2,800 billion VND, the highest ever.

“The transfer will officially be carried out at the beginning of the second quarter, after the end of the peak business season to ensure the completion of first quarter goals and maintain stability throughout the system,” PNJ’s press release on the evening of February 27 wrote.
