Satellite communication, the ability of the new Galaxy S26 to continue working in areas without a mobile network

Regional associations

In the case of the United States, it has collaboration with T-Satellite and Starlink by T-Mobile, with which it has offered text and data services since last year for certain Galaxy models after the Galaxy S21 series. In addition to collaborating with AT&T to offer satellite communication functions.

Likewise, it has added collaboration with Verizon for connection through eSOS and text services as a novelty in all Galaxy flagship models, after the S25 series. That is, at the moment, it is only available for the new Galaxy S26.

In the case of Europe, Samsung has announced that, with Virgin Media O2, satellite communication will be available on some Galaxy smartphones. Specifically, joint tests with MasOrange will begin in March in Spain.

Added to this is that the technology company is working with Vodafone as another of the companies that will offer satellite communication in the Galaxy.

Finally, in Japan they also allow satellite communication from 2025, with text and data functions, as well as the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning System (ETWS), which are available on the Galaxy S22 and later A series devices.

It will also expand satellite communication to some Galaxy A series devices starting in 2026, thanks to SoftBank and docomo. Likewise, it is working with Rakuten Mobile.
