The Ministry of Communications has reduced Bezeq wholesale tariffs for fiber optic infrastructure, the Internet should become cheaper

The tariff for companies will be reduced from 72 to 58 shekels for connecting one client to the Bezeq network at a speed of 1 gigabit/second. According to market estimates, this will reduce the average cost of a monthly subscription at a speed of 1 gigabit/second, which can drop from about 120 to 100-110 shekels.

The new tariffs are fixed for five years without reference to inflation. In conditions of active competition in the Internet providing market, it is assumed that savings will reach the end consumer in the near future.

Small providers such as Gilat, Triple C and 019 will be able to benefit from the reduced tariff indefinitely, while large providers – Selcom, Partner, HOT – will only have access to a regulated wholesale tariff for two and a half years, to encourage them to roll out their own fiber infrastructure in the long term. In August 2028, regulation of wholesale tariffs for large players will be completely removed.

In addition, the monthly fee that Internet service providers pay Bezeq to lay their own fiber through its passive infrastructure has been reduced from NIS 250 to NIS 180 per kilometer.
