Mayor Kolar cancels permits for solar panels. Councilor Vrančić: ‘And he claimed that everything was according to the law…’

After our insistence, the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and State Property launched an investigation and determined that the permits were issued illegally.

County and city councilor Petar Vran spoke about everything. which follows the whole case from the beginning.

– Today, what we have been warning about for months has been confirmed: the law must be above every project, every function and every political statement. By adopting the decision, which declares the location permits for the solar power plants Zabok 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 null and void and initiates the renewal of the procedure for the solar power plants Pregrada 1 and 2, an extremely important step forward was made at the level of the competent institutions – said Vrančić and added that it is primarily about people.

– This decision has, first of all, a human dimension because it means security for land owners who have lived in legal uncertainty and fear of losing their property for months. It didn’t get to this point overnight. Ever since August 2024, after the citizens approached me about expropriation procedures, I continuously warned about serious doubts about the legality of issuing permits. At the sessions of the County Assembly and the City Council, I demanded complete transparency and the publication of the findings of the supervision, and we encountered numerous obstacles, insults, and incorrect correspondence at the sessions. In November and December 2025, I publicly said that if the permits are illegal, someone must take political responsibility – reminded Vrančić. He adds that the rhetoric back then was that everything was fine.

– Untoč with these warnings, it was publicly claimed that everything was fine. Zcaron;upan states in his announcement today: “because I know very well how much people care about their land, which is not just property — for many families, it is a matter of identity, security and dignity.” The written sentence is the same belittling, insulting and underestimating the intelligence of citizens wrapped in “cellophane with a big bow”. But citizens who have been following this nightmare for months know how to read between the lines. All the time, Mayor Kolar claims that everything is fine, that everything is according to the law, he publicly calls me a liar and an ignoramus, but the opposite has been proven – said the councilor and asked where in the whole story are Možemo! and SDP?

– I am asking where are the parliament members Sandra Benčić, Dušica Radojčić and the party Možemo! who organized the protests in Zabok? Where is Siniša Hajdaš-Dončić and the mayor of Zaboka, Valentina Đurek, who organized forums and assured us that everything is in order and according to the law? I expect them to call their foreign colleague and coalition partner to political responsibility in all media tomorrow. Likewise, I expect all of them together to apologize to all Zabo&ccarons and Pregrads for their actions. I remind you, it is about 102 hectares (1.02 million m2 – Zabok) and 14 hectares (140,000 m2 – Pregrada) of land – stated Vrančić and emphasized the struggle of the citizens themselves.

– Also, we must not forget the actions and struggle of the citizens of Pregrada, who, together with the mayor Goran Vukmani, were the first to organize the protest and clearly stated that they were demanding legality, protection of property and respect for procedures. They stood up to defend their city, to help us. and for that I sincerely thank them. Finally, most importantly, a big thank you to the co-owners of the land in Zabok, to the people who wanted to listen when others did not, to those who endured various threats and terror, but were brave, persevered and helped in silence. I won’t list them by name, they know who they are. Thank you for your patience, commitment and strength to remain dignified and persistent throughout this process – says Vrančić and once again adds that the law must be equal for everyone.

– This case raised the same issue because the law must be equal for everyone and no decision must endanger the rights of citizens. I believe that our case will be of help. to everyone who will find themselves in a similar situation, and many will not think of going in that direction. I will always and only insist on legality, regardless of what individuals think about it – concluded Petar Vran.
