Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen’s pre-favorite position in the UMK general remained, Chachi surprised

Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen’s pre-favorite position strengthened during the generals. The surprise of the evening was Chachi with her strong singing and performance.

The dress rehearsals for the new music competition were held on Saturday at Tampere’s Nokia Arena.

Pre-favorites Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen strengthened their position, although the chemistry between them was minimal in the show.

The surprise of the evening was Chachi, whose strong vocals and natural performance stood out.

Tampere

To Tampere Dress rehearsals for the New Music Competition were held at Nokia Arena on Saturday afternoon. During the rehearsals, the same stage show that Yle shows from 9 p.m. was seen in its entirety.

HS was in the arena following the general exercises with other Finnish and international media.

The order of appearance in the final is as follows: Komiat, Etta, Kiki, Antti Paalanen, Gauze, Blue Monte and Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen.

In the generals, everyone’s singing went well, and the performances seemed to go as planned. Everyone showed a solid performance in the general. No shocking surprises were seen on stage.

Komiat brought a stage dance moment to the stage as expected. Lululai was fresh and down-to-earth, just as you could expect from the band. The group’s performance was a very simple, band-led folk music performance. Stage props and the fact that the videos sometimes showed the band in the style of a black-and-white film brought a breath of the old dance stage culture to the show.

Vocalist Aleksi Yli-Sissalan the song went great. Both the band and the performance are the epitome of purity, and the singer and the whole band exude the Elovena spirit.

Eta’s performance included a massive staircase structure.

drink performance of his song Millon Dollar Smile was very loud. There was also a slight wobble in the song from time to time.

Etta performed around and on top of the massive staircase structure, but the performance was very minimal. More visibility would have been needed.

However, the rain of fire that rained down on the stairs at the end looked wonderful, as did the little girl walking among the clouds on the background screen, who walked with Eta as if in her shadow.

Same The pain of loveThe performance of the song reminded me of the 2023 Eurovision winner Loreen’s Tattoo– presentation. The references to the song and the artist who performed it are obvious right down to the clothing.

Kiki’s performance, however, was a pity. Smoke, windmills and confetti flying around weren’t enough to turn the song into a spectacular performance.

There is humor in Antti Paalanen’s performance.

All right Antti Paalanen, who enjoyed the popularity of the audience, brought the familiar flower theme from the video to the stage and performed on an iron chair that looked like a barber’s chair on top of a field of flowers.

Right at the beginning of the performance, the bench rose from the flower field to the heights, where Paalanen performed almost until the end of the performance. Paala was surrounded by huge hair buns that reminded me of the Masked Singer show, who danced around Paalanen and waved massive daisies.

Paalasen Back hair-song and its funny live performance, in all its humor and skill, can sink in well with Finns, but the performance is unlikely to rise above the pre-favorite duo.

Chachi’s dance background is evident in the performance.

Evening among the surprises was Chachi with his song Cherry Cake.

The strong dance background of the artist, who is just starting his singing career, was visible on stage as a special relaxation and naturalness. Chachi was at home.

Chachi’s singing went very well and strong. The dance break part of the song was a bit of a disappointment, as it remained a show of background dancers, except for a few moves, where Chachi herself was left aside. However, the shortcoming was corrected at the end of the show, when Chachi was left alone on stage and ended the show with her own dance.

Blue Monten Ready to Leave-the song and its performance is helplessly overshadowed by other performances.

Monte’s singing goes well, but the show’s choreography and Monte’s outfit did not support the sensitive song. The hazy song would have needed a delicate softness in the outfit and movement as well, not so much sexiness, which seemed forced into the performance.

Monte only took control of the stage at the end of the show when he confidently walked towards the stage catwalk.

Pre-favorite duo Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen Flamethrower brought fire, charisma and strength to the stage. Parkkonen’s song went well, and the audience showed their approval.

However, the last touch and final explosion from the performance left me exhausted. It seems that the duo did not bring their full potential to the stage, and the fire was also spared.

The biggest shortcoming was that the chemistry between the duo was almost completely absent from the show, as Parkkonen and Lampenius performed on completely different sides of the stage. The connection between them should have been visible on stage as well. The duo, as it were, broke up into two completely separate artists.

Despite everything, and judging by the reaction of the audience at the dress rehearsal, it is clear that the pre-favorite cape will remain with the duo. You could already hear it when all the UMK contestants stepped onto the stage one after the other at the beginning of the show.
