Julien Mairesse, director of successful concerts, indicted for rape

The artistic director, who collaborated with Soprano, Zaho de Sagazan, Gims and Vitaa, is suspected for events which allegedly occurred in the southwest in June.

Director of ceremonies and concerts and well-known figure in the music industry, Julien Mairesse, 45, was indicted for rape by an investigating judge from Bobigny, AFP learned Friday from the prosecution. He was indicted on September 25, 2025 for “rape committed by a person in a state of obvious intoxication”, indicated the prosecution. The facts date back to mid-June in a town in the southwest, he said. Questioned by AFP, his lawyers Cécile Jabaly and Léa Falcon did not wish to react immediately.

A craftsman of major shows, Julien Mairesse defines himself as a “show director”, between scenographer and director, having worked on the Flammes ceremonies (annual awards in the rap world), a Soprano concert at the Stade de France (where he made his debut as a stage manager) or even performances by Dadju or Juliette Armanet. He has also just produced the musical comedy adaptation of Monte Cristo at the Folies Bergère in Paris. It is to him that we owe the resumption of Modern in love by Zaho de Sagazan during the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival or the Soprano concert upon the arrival of the Olympic flame in Marseille.
