Trump updated on the fighting situation, and addressed the protesters in Iran: “Be brave”

US President Donald Trump published a special video tonight (Sunday) on his social network, Truth Social, in which he updated on the state of the war in Iran. Trump also addressed Iranian intellectuals, asking them to make their voices heard.

“We hit hundreds of targets in Iran, including the Revolutionary Guards, air defense systems and nine warships,” he said in a 6-minute video. “Khamenei is dead. This horrible man had blood on his hands and was responsible for the death of thousands of people around the world.”

“We heard the voices of the Iranian citizens cheering in the streets when they announced his death,” he said. “Many of the military personnel in Iran want immunity. They call us by the thousands. We will continue until all the goals are achieved, we have very strong goals.”

“They (the Iranian leadership) could have done something two weeks ago but they didn’t do it,” accused the US president. “There will probably be more deaths, unfortunately, but we will do everything so that there won’t be. We will avenge the death of our soldier. Our and Israel’s determination has never been greater.”

According to Trump, “an Iranian regime armed with long-range missiles and nuclear weapons would be a serious threat to every American. We will not allow this regime to blackmail the world. We have the most powerful military the world has ever seen.”

Against the background of criticism in the US, he clarified: “Our actions are correct and necessary so that the American people do not have to face a terrorist regime armed with nuclear weapons. For nearly fifty years they attacked the USA and called ‘death to America’ and ‘death to Israel’. They are the biggest sponsors of terrorism in the world.”

“The threats from Iran will not continue any longer,” he explained. “I call on the Revolutionary Guards, the Iranian police, to lay down their weapons and accept immunity or be ready to die.” To the Iranian people he said: “I call on all Iranian patriots who want freedom to be brave and take advantage of the moment. Take their country back. America is with you. I promised you something and I kept it, the rest is up to you – but we will be there to help.”
