After beginning his speech with “God is great”, the journalist burst into tears when announcing the “martyr’s” death of Ali Khamenei, in what he described as a joint criminal attack.

During his speech, the presenter found himself at times unable to speak and had to interrupt his reading several times because the emotion was so strong.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, 86, was killed on Saturday during a joint military operation by Israel and the United States against Iran. The Ayatollah was one of the stated targets of the American-Israeli strikes.

A large security presence had been deployed in Tehran around his residence, but he was not in the Iranian capital at the time of the strikes after having “been transferred to a safe location”, according to some sources. In power since 1989, he was Israel’s number one enemy who had several times demonstrated his desire to eliminate it. Iran declared 40 days of mourning on Sunday following the death of its supreme leader.
