Finland’s World Cup bronze in ski orienteering and biathlon youth competitions

The Finnish team won the biathlon mixed relay World Cup bronze at the Under-19 World Championships in Arber, Germany.

Austria took the gold and Norway was second. Finland lost to the superior Austria by more than two minutes.

Skiing in the Finnish team Arttu Remes, Tuomas Latvalahti, Venla Mennala and the anchor Hanni Koski.

Italy finished fourth, losing to Finland by more than half a minute.

Among the big countries in biathlon, Sweden was sixth, France seventh and Germany ninth.

The Arber biathlon center is located in Bavaria near the border between Germany and the Czech Republic.

Finland Niklas Ekström on the other hand, won the WC bronze in the sprint orienteering in Rusutsu, Japan, on Monday.

Ekström’s time in the competition was 16:38. He lost 20 seconds to the Norwegian gold medalist Jorgen Baklidille. Norwegian Iron Kamsvaag won the silver with a difference of two seconds to Ekström.

Ekström, 24, from Turku, was satisfied with his success in difficult conditions.

“The conditions at the race were very different from what we are used to in Finland. There was practically everywhere, and the environment is just so different here in Japan. Before the race, there was so much tension that the skis really shook in the legs in the warm-up,” Ekström said in a news release from the Finnish Orienteering Association.

Rusutsu is located on the northernmost main island of Japan, Hokkaido.

In the women’s competition, the best Finn finished seventh Amanda Yli-Futka. The women’s gold also went to Norway. Celebrate the world championship Anna Ulvensøen.
